Posted March 4th, 2008 by MichelleI am hereby never allowed to travel without a camera, ever again. This is the second time I’ve been in Sacramento where the Governator has unexpectedly shown up, when I didn’t have a proper camera. And the second time I couldn’t record the amazing events happening ’round me. Last time it was for Katrina disaster relief Red Cross training, this time for the California Arts Council conference/CA arts advocacy day but STILL. Really. I am a bad historian. And I need to prove to my friends just how short our Governator is. They don’t believe me.
However, I am wonderful at trivia, which all of my colleagues and bar mates can attest to at the Pyramid Ale House this eve. I am the girl who will win pitchers of beer, based on my knowledge of movie musicals and geography. I will lose, however, when it comes to American rugby teams, cuz really. How can I know that?
But what the world is screaming to me is this: he exists. Even if he isn’t the wonderful lad next to me at trivia, he exists. Even if he isn’t the lad in my dreams, he exists. Even if he isn’t who I want him to be, he exists. So relax already. He’s out there; just give in. I really feel like I just need to relax, let go, have faith. Because the world is showing me he’s out there; I just have to start breathing about the whole thing, and then, he’ll show up. So, I’ll try.
In the meantime, I’ll harass my elected officials about arts funding. A girl’s gotta have focus on something, for ye god’s sake.
Holiday Inn Express, Sacramento? Avoid it. Just an FYI.
